ABOUT HANNAH JO

I'm Hannah Jo, and I’ve been designing ever since I discovered I could make dinosaurs out of Cheerios. A fine arts enthusiast, I sketch, paint, sing, act, dance and have even tried roller derby. (Derby name: Hannah Barbar-ian! - Love animation.)

I accent this unique lineup with a career in creative advertising.

I’m a senior level Art Director, but I'm a strategist first. I thrive on solving problems for my clients, whether that’s with strategy or design. I strive to tell meaningful stories through design, helping brands authentically connect their audiences, and delivering a positive customer experience from the first interaction to the last.

I am currently a senior Art Director at Esrock Partners, working on multiple major foodservice brands, including Tyson Foodservice (Poultry and Prepared, Hillshire Farm, Jimmy Dean, State Fair), and Nestle Professional Solutions (Hot Pockets, Stouffers, Lean Cuisine). I am developing multi-platform campaigns, with integrated tactics across print, digital, emails, social media, websites, articles, videos, presentations and sales collateral.  I love piloting new techonology (Figma) and helping to teach my teams the new software.

I spent some time in the finance world, at Capital One, where I worked across various teams in the Card Partnerships division, both on Conversions and Horizontal partners. I designed creative for the launch of new cobrand credit cards, including products for Williams-Sonoma, BJ’s, Walmart, REI and Kohl’s. I piloted the use of Figma internally, spearheading development of new presentation library. I developed microsites, emails/EASE materials, print/DMs, in-store materials, and various communications to guide consumers through conversion journey.

But I cut my teeth in foodservice and CPG/retail, beginning my career at Foodmix Marketing Communications, concepting and executing brand strategy and 360 campaigns for 8 years there, learning the ropes and dabbling in almost every facet of the foodservice industry.

On the side I still have a passion for art, and try to find ways to utliize my talents as much as possible. I have been an artist from a young age, have illustrated coloring books, and written /illustrated young author books. I have designed signs for weddings and private events. But most notably, I enjoy using my talents to help local community groups; I have 5+ years of designing for Chicagoland theater organizations, creating marketing materials (including posters, t-shirts, handouts) and managing their online and social presence, as well as serving as Props Mistress for many musical productions.

Skills include Figma design, microsite and email design, digital and print creation, animation and video production, graphic design, presentation design, photography direction, writing, and media production.

Feel free to poke around; if you have an opportunity to connect, please reach out! I’m always happy to discuss collaborations!
